Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly — your name, email, phone number, business details, and Qatar Commercial Registration (CR) number when you register as a merchant or delivery partner. We also collect order data, delivery addresses, and device information needed to operate the marketplace.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to operate qatarsouq: creating and displaying your store, processing orders, enabling delivery quotes between merchants and independent delivery partners, communicating service updates, and preventing fraud. We do not sell your personal data.
Merchants, Partners, and Data Sharing
When you place an order, the merchant receives your name, delivery address, and phone number to fulfill it. If a delivery partner's quote is accepted, that partner receives the delivery address and contact details necessary to complete the delivery. Delivery partners are independent contractors, not employees of qatarsouq.
Payments and Cash on Delivery
Payment processing is handled by third-party providers. We do not store full card numbers. Cash on Delivery (COD) orders are settled between the customer and the merchant directly; qatarsouq is not party to COD funds, and no customer payment passes through qatarsouq.
Data Retention and Security
We retain your data while your account is active and as required by law. We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest for identity numbers, access controls, and regular reviews to protect your information, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Under the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law No. 13 of 2016 you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may object to or restrict processing, and may withdraw consent. You may close your account at any time. Requests can be sent to privacy@qatarsouq.shop and are handled within 30 days.
